I win a national award

Earlier this week I was at the Canadian Public Relations Society’s annual conference in Vancouver, where I received what CPRS calls a Major Award, the Award of Attainment for being a person “whose personal activities and/or leadership have gone beyond the call of duty or responsibility to an employer or client and resulted in a pronounced contribution to the status and acceptance of the Public Relations function as a whole.”

Basically, it’s for writing the only, as far as I can tell, Canadian textbook on a facet of public relations In the News: The Practice of Public Relations in Canada (University of Alberta Press, second edition 2008). Click on the brochure (left), if you’re the only person in the world who I haven’t badgered into buying a copy.
